Mitchel D. Krieger, M.D., is a plastic surgeon, specializing in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery. A former military surgeon, Dr. Krieger served as a consultant surgeon to the British military during the first Gulf War and later served on the teaching faculty at the Medical College of Georgia, helping to train young plastic surgeons. He is double board-certified bringing more than twenty years worth of experience as both a general surgeon and as a plastic surgeon.

Acknowledged by many as one of the most experienced plastic surgeons in the country focusing specifically on the issues confronting weight loss patients, he is constantly striving to improve the overall patient experience. Providing cosmetic surgery options to patients who have recently undergone significant weight loss, he is able to help people more fully enjoy their new, slimmed-down bodies.

In 2008, Dr. Krieger published his book, “Bariatric Plastic Surgery - A Guide to Cosmetic Surgery After Weight Loss”.  This has been an invaluable resource for patients undergoing breast and body recontouring surgery. He is a frequent speaker at many regional weight loss surgery events and his involvement with the Bariatric Center of Excellent at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital has given Dr. Krieger a unique ability to help optimize patient’s surgical results. He looks to build lifelong relationships with patients, and to use his skills to help patients feel better about their appearance, and in many cases, improve the quality of their lives.
